Jewellery You Cannot Part With, But Never Wear

Perhaps you have inherited jewellery from your mother or grandmother. Perhaps you own several rings that no longer suit you, or pieces connected to an important chapter of your life.

You may not want to sell them or leave them hidden away. But changing something so meaningful can feel like an enormous decision.

Sarah and the team at Legacy Jewellery help you preserve what matters while creating something that feels entirely right for you.

Your jewellery remains part of your story. It simply begins a new chapter.

Every Legacy transformation begins with a different story.

Some clients want to combine several inherited rings. Others want to reuse a gemstone while completely changing the design. Some simply need help understanding what is possible.

What they share is the desire to preserve the meaning of their jewellery while creating something they will genuinely enjoy wearing.

Bringing Mum’s Rings Back to Life

Jan’s mum’s engagement and eternity ring had been sitting in a drawer for over ten years when she finally got in touch and started to explore design ideas….

Combining Three Important Women’s Jewellery

Jill was inspired to get in touch after reading about one of our transformations online. She had her mum’s great aunt’s and mother-in-law’s jewellery and wanted to create a ring she could love to wear.

Unworn rings transformed into a unique pendant

Cathy contacted me as she was no longer able to wear her beloved rings. She wanted to explore the idea of combining the gold and gemstones into a unique, wearable pendant

Meet Sarah

Hi, my name is Sarah Stoner. I am the founder of Legacy Jewellery.

This is an exciting and often emotional journey.

You do not need to get in touch with a design in mind. You do not even need to be certain that you are ready to change your jewellery.

The first step is a free Discovery Call. I will ask you questions and listen to the story behind your pieces, talk through what you would like to achieve and help you understand the possibilities.

I know from personal experience how inherited jewellery can carry complicated emotions as well as happy memories. There will never be any pressure to proceed or to make a decision before you are ready. In fact, if I feel any worry or hesitancy from you, I will be the first to press pause until you are ready.

The first step is a conversation. It really is that simple.

There is a story behind how Legacy Jewellery started. Its origins and why I am so passionate about inherited jewellery. You can read more about that HERE.

A relaxed 20-minute conversation. No pressure and no obligation.

How Legacy Jewellery Remodelling Works

A Personal Design Journey Made Simple

STEP 1: DISCOVER

Begin with a free Discovery Call with Sarah.

Tell us about your jewellery, why it matters and what you would like to change. If helpful, you can send photographs before or after your call.

STEP 2: DESIGN

We’ll carefully assess your jewellery in person, either during an appointment or through our trusted Postal Pack. We design, refine and perfect every detail until it feels exactly right. You’ll receive clear costings, including the value of any precious metal you’d like to offset.

STEP 3: CREATE

Your chosen design is carefully handcrafted.

Nothing is altered until you have approved the design and quotation. Your jewellery is documented throughout the process, and your finished piece is returned with the appropriate valuation and guarantee.

What Can Be Transformed?

Your old jewellery could become almost anything

We regularly help clients:

  • Combine several pieces of old jewellery into one new piece.

  • Transform inherited rings into a contemporary design.

  • Reuse diamonds and coloured gemstones.

  • Turn rings into pendants, pendants into earrings and brooches into rings.

  • Create new jewellery using sentimental gold.

  • Remodel wedding rings after bereavement.

  • Redesign jewellery following divorce or personal change.

  • Create future heirlooms for daughters and granddaughters.

Not every gemstone or item of metal can always be reused in the way first imagined. We will assess your jewellery honestly and explain the safest and most appropriate options.

Irreplaceable jewellery deserves exceptional care

We understand that trusting someone with inherited or important jewellery can feel daunting.

That is why reassurance and transparency are built into every stage of the Legacy process.

  • Your jewellery is examined and carefully documented when received.

  • Nothing is altered until you have approved the design and quotation.

  • We explain exactly what can be reused before work begins.

  • Unused gemstones and materials are accounted for and returned or credited as agreed.

  • Your finished jewellery is independently hallmarked where required.

  • An insurance valuation is provided with all Legacy pieces.

  • Our workmanship is protected by a lifetime manufacturing guarantee.

  • Clients throughout the UK can use our tracked and secure Postal Pack service.

If you have any concerns before entrusting us with your jewellery, Sarah will be happy to answer them personally.

Stories Entrusted to Legacy

— K Dennis, Leicestershire

“I’ve been following Sarah’s page for a while now. When my mother passed away last year I had several pieces of inherited jewellery that didn’t fit as they had tiny fingers. I gave Sarah several pieces and to say the two items she made, surpassed all my expectations. The theme of water and ice are close to my heart being a swimming teacher. The ring and necklace are breathtaking and I’ve had several compliments on both. Thank you for your service.”

— K and M Hammond, Harrogate

“We are in complete awe of the transformation of our daughter’s dated jewellery she inherited from her grandmother. You are an amazingly talented and caring team. Thank you.”

— L Morrison, Harrogate

“My Mum loved jewellery and I share that love. Many of my happy memories of us, include finding beautiful pieces and treating ourselves. It took me over 8 years to be brave enough to create legacy jewellery out of Mum’s favourite pieces after she died. But Sarah is lovely and I was included in the whole design process.

The final ring is beautiful and I wear it with pride and love. Even though it is stunning, it is totally wearable and it’s my Mum on one finger. Highly recommend.”
