Mum’s Beautiful Ruby
Alison’s Story….
Alison had a collection of jewellery that just wasn’t working for her. She also had her mother’s engagement ring and wanted to create a piece of jewellery she could enjoy wearing every day.
It was important to Alison that her mum’s oval ruby was the main focal point of her new design. She wanted the versatility of a design created in 18ct gold and platinum.
So, we got to work on her design…..
We started off by creating a fabulous asymmetrical ring design featuring Alison’s gorgeous oval ruby set vertically.
We also showed Alison a version of this design with more 18ct yellow gold…
In the end, Alison opted for a stunning design featuring her mum’s oval ruby set horizontally. As soon as she saw it, she knew it was the outright winner!
The Creation!
Work began. Alison’s rubies and diamonds were carefully unset from her existing jewellery, cleaned, calibrated and prepared for their new home. Her mum’s beautiful oval ruby, once cleaned and polished was exquisite!
The ring was a tricky creation with several pieces cast separately in 18ct gold and platinum. But the result was worth the hard work……
The Completed Legacy Ring
Alison’s Legacy ring was truly spectacular! The balance of the platinum and the 18ct yellow gold, combined with the beautiful pinky red of her rubies was stunning.
