Understanding Legacy Costs and Setting A Budget

Having an idea of how much you would like to invest will help us create designs that are going to suit you. This may involve the addition of new diamonds or gemstones to create your perfect piece, or it may mean setting realistic expectations about what can be achieved within your budget.

If you are struggling to set a budget for your jewellery transformation, then it might be helpful to ask for two different designs at two different price points. This will help you work out what is most important to you.

How To Bring Your Legacy Piece in on Budget

It is easy to get carried away and create a fabulous design that will stop traffic... only to find out you can't afford to have it made.

There are a few things to consider that may help you bring your perfect design in on budget.

  • The number of diamonds / gemstones being used in your new design has a huge impact on price. So, think seriously about which pieces mean the most to you and select carefully.

  • If your favourite design is over-budget, ask for your design to be slimmed down. A finer version of the same design will use less precious metal and so will cost less to make.

  • If you haven't quite got the budget to create your perfect piece, you could look at off-setting the value of any old precious metal that is sitting in your jewellery box: Old broken chains, earrings, bracelets may have a value you can use.

  • Consider waiting for a while. Choosing a less experienced jeweller to create your Legacy piece purely because of cost, may well be the more expensive option in the long run should you then need to have a piece you’re unhappy with re-made.
